The story of Deus ex machina is a multi chapter musical journey into what I believe is the not too distant future of mankind. Everything is a metaphor. The journey begins with The End of Reason a song that works on multiple levels but is the beginings of the breakdowns of communication within mankind....and the impending doom of a force more technologically advanced than us by hundreds of years. This force imposes itself upon the earth and dominates us because it is within it's nature to conquer and because we have not learned the brotherhood that is man and the strength we can obtain in unity, we do not fight as one and our enemy is able to quickly overtake us. Deus Ex Machina is the chapter where man has seen devastation the likes it has never seen in it's history and contemplates uniting against a superior enemy but there are so many misgivings and misunderstandings between us that still prevail in our nature and about each other that this alliance is not an easy one. The beauty of being alive can be found in the lyric "I am a theif, I steal the air that you breathe and give it back to the vines, that drape the concrete." What is life but to give and take? Inside is a political song and how the powers that be suppress you, control you, make you think and feel a certain way. The veils they hold over your eyes are akin to those held by the conquering aliens that watch over you but the human spirit is what conquers all and within each of us is the power to level mountains. Into Nothing, is the destruction of everything we know, from cities to worlds to the meaning of it all, the only thing worth fighting for is LOVE. Evil is the climax of this destruction and the symphony at the end is the very soul of man encased in this utterly insane society of destruction. The final act is Entwined, a post apocalyptic love story of two lovers left as the sole survivors in a world leveled in ruin. I will add to this story as the days go
